Overall goal


Das Projet d'Appui aux Femmes en Elevage du Fouladou (PAFEF) strebt an, durch die Förderung der Zucht und Haltung von Nutztieren mit kurzen Reproduktionszyklen zur Armutsminderung im Bezirk Kolda beizutragen und bietet seine Leistungen vor allem Frauen an, die traditionell Kleintiere halten. Durch diese Aktivität leisten sie einen bedeutenden Beitrag zur Ernährung und zum monetären Einkommen der Haushalte. Dazu soll die Basisorganisation DIRFEL unterstützt werden, nach Projektende ihre Aktivitäten ohne technische und finanzielle Hilfe von außen weiterführen können.

Es soll die lokale Kleintierproduktion erhöht und die Haltungsbedingungen verbessert werden. Die Kapazitäten der Akteure und der Basisorganisation DIRFEL sollen durch Training in Haltungsmethoden und finanziellem Management gestärkt werden. DIRFEL wird mit kleinen Infrastrukturen zur Viehzucht ausgestattet, die die Verbreitung verbesserter Rassen ermöglichen soll.

Im Rahmen der Projektvorbereitungen wurde mit dem nationalen Komitee zur Bekämpfung der Hühnergrippe Kontakt aufgenommen, die das Vorhaben sehr begrüßen und darauf hinweisen, dass es ggf. über die Schaffung von Einkommen hinaus ein Modell im Rahmen der Kontrolle und Absicherung der Hühnerhaltung im Hinblick auf die Geflügelhaltung sein kann.

Die Partnerregion ist Teil der ¿natürlichen Region¿ Casamance und liegt somit im fruchtbaren, aber aufgrund der Grenzziehung und schlechter Infrastrukturentwicklung vom Land abgeschnittenen Süden. Nur wenige Entwicklungorganisationen bemühen sich um die Förderung der Region, die großes landwirtschaftliches Potential hat.
