Overall goal


Dieses Projekt unterstützt die Umsetzung des Abkommens zur Waffenruhe, das im Rahmen den ugandischen Friedensverhandlungen abgeschlossen wurde. Dieses unter der Vermittlung der südsudanesischen Regierung zustande gekommene Abkommen sieht unter anderem die Versammlung der Truppen der Lord¿s Resistance Army in zwei Sammelgebieten im Südsudan und die Versorgung der versammelten Kombattanten mit Nahrung, Wasser und Medikamenten. Damit soll sichergestellt werden, dass die Kombattanten die Waffenruhe einhalten, in den Sammelgebieten bleiben und sich solche Versorgung nicht unter der lokalen Bevölkerung erzwingen. Die Zahl der Zielgruppe wird insgesamt auf 10.000 geschätzt, die genaue Zahl wird jedoch erst nach Versammlung festgestellt werden können. Unter ihnen befinden sich auch Frauen und Kinder, deren Versorgung im Falle einer getrennten Sammlung von UNICEF übernommen werden wird (Österreich leistet auch zu diesem Unternehmen einen finanziellen Beitrag). Bei Ausbleiben der Trennung wird das vorliegende Projekt Frauen und Kindern eine Unterstützung gewähren, die auf die besonderen Bedürfnisse dieser Gruppe Rücksicht nimmt.


Caritas Uganda hat sich bereit erklärt, die Versorgung der Sammelgebiete zu leisten. Dänemark, Schweden und Österreich finanzieren das Projekt über einen von DANIDA eingerichteten Basket Fund.
