Overall goal


Das geplante Health Center (ein Bush-Spital) ist für die betroffene Bevölkerung (Pokomos, einfaches armes Bauernvolk, mehrheitlich Analphabeten, ohne Arbeit) eine dringende Notwendigkeit und soll einerseits den Gesundheitszustand und das Gesundheitsbewusstsein der Menschen in der Region verbessern und andererseits mehreren Menschen Arbeit bringen.

Nachdem in der Regenzeit ca. 8 Monate keine Rettung, Autos oder andere Fahrzeuge das großflächig unter Wasser und Sumpf stehende Gebiet durchqueren können und es in Shirikisho weder Arzt oder Krankenpfleger noch Medikamente gibt, sind die Menschen im Notfall gänzlich von jeder Hilfsmöglichkeit abgeschlossen. Der Fußweg bis zum nächsten städtischen Spital in Ngao (ca. 30-35 km von Shirikisso entfernt) dauert bis zu 8 Stunden bzw. bei starkem Regen noch länger. Ab 18 Uhr wäre ein Fußweg wegen der wilden Tiere überhaupt zu gefährlich und ein Krankentransport unmöglich. Aufgrund der langen Regenzeit und des Sumpfes wird das Health Centre auf 120 cm tiefen Beton- und Eisenfundamenten gebaut.

Im Health Center sollen 1 Doktor und 2 Krankenschwestern 24 Stunden abwechselnd Dienst/Bereitschaftsdienst haben. Die Gebühren für Patienten sind niedrig, die Medikamente sind gratis bzw. nur gegen eine kleine Gebühr. Vorgesehen sind ein Ambulanzbetrieb, eine erste Hilfe Versorgung, Stationäraufnahme bei Akutfällen ggfs. Weitertransport falls möglich und nötig ins Ngao District Hospital, Impfaktionen, Einschulungen des Personals, Veranstaltungen und Vorträge über Hygiene, Verhütung, HIV/AIDS Prävention, über Hilfsaktionen bei dortigen endemischen Krankheiten wie z.B. Gigas u.a., Ernährung u.v.m.
