Overall goal


Es handelt sich um den Abschluss des bereits 1999 begonnenen EU-Kofinanzierungsvorhabens 1723-59/1998. Die letzte Rate der EK wurde im Dezember 2006 überwiesen.


Ziele des Projekts:

- die Minderung der Wasserknappheit in den Dörfern und die Entlastung der Frauen bei ihrer Aufgabe der täglichen Heranschaffung von Wasser für den häuslichen Bedarf;

- die Unterstützung der Dorfbevölkerung beim Kampf gegen Trockenheit, Bodenerosion;

- Schaffung von Einkommensmöglichkeiten für die Dorfbevölkerung rund um die Brunnen durch Anlegen von Obst- und Gemüsegärten;

- Erleichterung der Frauenarbeiten bei tägl. Nahrungsmittelversorgung

- Kreation von Gesundheitskomitees und Schaffung einer dörfl. Minimalinfrastruktur für gesundheitl. Zwecke

- Ausstattung der Caritas Thies mit einer Fachgruppe zur Abwicklung der geplanten Vorhaben


Die großen Linien des Projekts:

Verringerung des Wassermangels in den Dörfern durch folgende Maßnahmen:

- Bau von Schachtbrunnen und Ausstattung dieser mit Fördereinrichtungen

- Ausstattung von exisiterenden Tiefbohrungen u. Erstellung von Obst- und Gemüsegärten

- Aufforstung und Erosionsschutzmaßnahmen

- Entlastungsmaßnahmen speziell für die Frauen in den Dörfern

- Vorbeugende hygienische u. medizinische Maßnahmen

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
