Overall goal


Der internationale Weltladentag (World Fair Trade Day) ist ein Aktionstag der Weltläden und findet jedes Jahr am 2. Samstag im Mai statt. Auch in Österreich finden jedes Jahr in etwa 60 Weltläden vielfältige Aktivitäten aus diesem Anlass statt.


Neben der besseren Bekanntmachung des Fairen Handels stehen die Aktionen 2006 vor allem im Zeichen der Information über "Kinderarbeit" am Beispiel Fußball. Die begleitenden Dialogprogramme richten sich vor allem an Jugendliche und junge Erwachsene. Das Produktthema "Fußbälle" ist ein attraktives und - aus Anlass der Fußball-Weltmeisterschaft '06- auch aktuelles Beispiel, um an den Interessen von Jugendlichen/jungen Erwachsenen anknüpfend Zusammenhänge zwischen Weltwirtschaft und Lebenswelten im Norden und Süden darzustellen.

Die Besuche von ProduzentInnen im Rahmen des Dialogprogramms dienen dem Austausch zwischen ProduzentInnen aus dem Süden mit Jugendlichen und jungen Erwachsenen im Schul- und Universitätsbereich sowie am "Lernort Weltladen".


Durch das flächendeckende Netz der Weltläden in Österreich und die Einbettung in die internationalen Strukturen von NEWS! - dem europäischen Dachverband von Weltladen-Organisationen aus 13 Ländern und mehr als 2.500 Weltläden - kann von einer nachhaltigen Sicherung der Ergebnisse ausgegangen werden. Für Qualitätssicherung und Nachhaltigkeit des Projektes spricht die etablierte Mitarbeiterschulung zum aktuellen Kampagnethema sowie die gelungene Regionalisierung entwicklungspolitischer Kommunikationsarbeit.


Das Projekt wird aus OEZA-Mitteln in der Höhe von 11.430,00 (76,25 % des Gesamtprojektvolumens) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
