Overall goal


Projektregion von WhelpMobile wird vor allem Nord - Nigeria sein; spezieller Fokus wird auf die ländlichen Gebiete rund um Kaduna gelegt, wie z.B. die Provinz Zangon Kataf, die sich etwa zwei Autostunden entfernt südlich von Kaduna befindet.


Ein Kleinbus, der mit einem Notstromaggregat und einigen PCs ausgestattet ist, soll EDV - Schulungen lokal und mobil ermöglichen. Dieskommt den Regionen zu gute, die am meisten von der urbanen, informationstechnologischen Versorgung abgeschnitten sind.

Primäre Zielgruppe des Projekts stellen community schools dar, mit denen eine Zusammenarbeit auch über die Projektlaufzeit hinaus angestrebt wird. Vor allem SchülerInnen können vom praktischen Wissen der EDV - Anwendung profitieren, sei es für ein zukünftiges Studium oder für den Beruf. Des weiteren können sie sich durch das Internet mit anderen SchülerInnen weltweit vernetzen, Erfahrungen und Wissen austauschen, E - Lernprogramme absolvieren und so ihren Horizont erweitern.


Auch andere Gruppen, wie PrivatinteressentInnen oder SeniorInnen können an den Schulungen teilhaben, im speziellen sollen Frauen dazu ermuntert werden, sich dieser Technologie zu öffnen. Bei einem früheren Whelp - Project wurden eigens dazu weibliche EDV - Trainerinnen ausgebildet, um die Hemmschwelle für Frauen zu senken

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
