Overall goal


Ziel des Projekts ist, ein EDV-Schulungszentrum für die Ansar-Islam Secondary School mit 2000 SchülerInnen im Bezirk Oloje (Randbezirk) in Ilorin, in West-Zentral-Nigeria aufzubauen. Zwei Räume werden umgebaut, eingerichtet und mit insgesamt 31 PCs (werden über österreichische Sponsoren bereitgestellt) ausgestattet, um EDV-Schulungen (Word, Excel) für SchülerInnen und Jugendlichen lokal zu ermöglichen. Dies kommt der Schule, dem Bezirk und der Umgebung sehr zugute, weil sie von informationstechnologischer Versorgung komplett abgeschnitten sind.


Primäre Zielgruppe des Projekts stellen SchülerInnen und Jugendlichen dar, die noch keine richtige Erfahrung mit IT gemacht haben und vom praktischen Wissen der EDV - Anwendung profitieren werden - für ein zukünftiges Studium oder für den Beruf. Des weiteren können sie sich durch das Internet mit anderen SchülerInnen weltweit vernetzen, Erfahrungen und Wissen austauschen, E-Lernprogramme absolvieren und so ihren Horizont und ihre Zukunftsperspektiven erweitern.


Die SchülerInnen der Schule (11-18 Jahre) werden im Rahmen des Unterrrichts tagsüber unterrichtet. In einem Abendkurs werden darüberhinaus ungefähr 55 bis 60 Jugendliche (bis 24 Jahre alt) in der Schule unterrichtet, um die PC-Infrastruktur optimal zu nützen.


Auch andere Gruppen, wie LehrerInnen, BeamtInnenund PrivatinteressentInnen können an den Schulungen teilnehmen, im Speziellen sollen Mädchen/Frauen dazu ermutigt werden, sich der IT-Technologie zu öffnen. Dafür werden eigens dazu ausgebildete weibliche EDV-Trainerinnen eingesetzt, um die Hemmschwelle für Frauen zu senken.


Der Vorschag für dieses Projekt ist von der Schule entstanden. Es wird auch eine enge Zusammenarbeit mit der Schule über die Projektlaufzeit hinaus angestrebt.

Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
