Overall goal


Zur Verbesserung der aktuellen Betreuungssituation der Aids-Kranken sind Workshops und Schulungen für 138 PflegehelferInnen geplant sowie Unterstützung bei der Ausstattung mit notwendigen medizinischen und hygienischen Materialien zur Professionalisierung und Erleichterung ihrer Arbeit mit den Kranken. Geplant sind auch Lobbying-Aktivitäten bei lokalen Autoritäten zur Verbesserung des Home-Based-Care-Programms für HIV-positive und AIDS-kranke Menschen in den Bezirken Bambanani, Bango, Bidi, Malaba, Gweyha und Marko


Die direkte Zielgruppe der drei geplanten Workshops sind insgesamt ca. 138 Freiwillige, die bereits in der häuslichen Pflege tätig sind. Die meisten dieser PflegehelferInnen sind Frauen mittleren Alters.


Resultat 1: 138 freiwillige PflegehelferInnen haben durch Workshops neue, bessere "Behandlungsmöglichkeiten" kennengelernt, konkretes Wissen und neue Techniken für Haus- und Heimpflege vermittelt bekommen.


Resultat 2: Durch die bessere Ausbildung der PflegehelferInnen sowie durch die Versorgung mit dringend notwendigen medizinischen und hygienischen Materialien ist die Situation der Kranken deutlich verbessert und die Arbeit der PflegehelferInnen deutlich erleichtert.


Resultat 3: Die PflegehelferInnen - und damit in weiterer Folge auch die pflegenden Familienmitglieder - wurden in ihrer Schulung erneut darauf aufmerksam gemacht wie Ansteckung zu vermeiden ist bzw. vermieden werden kann. Mittels Einweg-Handschuhen und geeignetem Desinfektionsmittel für Körper und Kleidung wurde das Risiko einer Ansteckung weiter gesenkt.


Resultat 4: Die lokalen Autoritäten wurden auf das tatsächliche Ausmaß der AIDS-Pandemie in Maphisa und Umgebung aufmerksam gemacht.
