Ziel des Projekts ist es ein Berufsbildungsprogramm für Holztechnologie in Chennai, im Südosten Indiens, zu entwickeln und seine Skalierung vorzubereiten.

Target group / Beneficiaries


Zielgruppe der Wirtschaftspartnerschaft sind zunächst Jugendliche aus Chennai, die aus armen Verhältnissen stammen. Ihnen soll die Ausbildung im Don Bosco Technical Center ermöglicht werden. Dafür wird in dem bestehenden Zentrum ein neuer Ausbildungszweig geschaffen, der sich im Laufe der Zeit von einem einfachen Skills Training zu einem zertifizierten mehrjährigen Diplomkurs entwickeln wird. Damit ist Kapazitätenentwicklung auf verschiedenen Ebenen verbunden.

Von dem Projekt profitieren aber auch Möbelhersteller in Indien, die die Absolventen einstellen und damit befähigt werden, höherwertige Möbel herzustellen und zu einem besseren Preis zu verkaufen.


Context


Antragsteller ist die Felder KG, ein Tiroler Familienunternehmen, das seit dem Jahr 2000 in Indien tätig ist. 3.500 Holzverarbeitungsmaschinen wurden im Land bereits verkauft, das Wissen zur fachgerechten Bedienung der Anlagen fehlt aber größtenteils. Es ist daher im Interesse aller Beteiligten dieses KnowHow aufzubauen.

Teil des Projekts ist es außerdem das Modell, das anhand des Pilotprojekts in Chennai entwickelt wird, auf andere Don Bosco Zentren, aber auch darüber hinaus (in andere Länder und zu anderen Ausbildungsinstituten hin) zu übertragen. Die Zertifizierung durch die zuständige Regierungsbehörde wird angestrebt.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
