Overall goal


Ziel des Projekts ist es, ein nachhaltiges Bewirtschaftungsmodell für Trekkingrouten in Nepal zu entwickeln und anzuwenden. Besonderer Wert wird dabei auf die Beteiligung von und den Nutzen für lokale Beteiligte gelegt.


Expected results


Von der Entwicklung der Routen werden ca. 200 Lodges in Nepal profitieren. Mit 20 lokalen Trekking Agencies wird zusammengearbeitet, für ca. 1.200 Haushalte werden entlang der Routen Einkommensmöglichkeiten geschaffen. 200 neue Jobs sollen entstehen.


Activities


Konkret geht es um

- die Entwicklung neuer Trails abseits der gängigen Tourismusrouten

- das „Fair-Gestalten“ bestehender Trails

- die Vorbereitung der Übertragung des Geschäftsmodells auf weitere Himalaya-Staaten wie Indien und Bhutan


Die Maßnahmen, die dazu führen sollen, sind:

- Detailentwicklung des Fair Trails Business Modells (z.B. Selbstbeschränkung der Provisionen, Entlohnungsschema für alle Beteiligten)

- Entwicklung und Integration einer Fair Trails Gebühr für Projekte entlang der Routen, die die Nachhaltigkeit erhöhen

- Entwicklung von nachhaltigen Organisations- und Management-strukturen für die eigenständige Steuerung der Fair Trails durch lokale Beteiligte


Context


Antragsteller sind die Trail Angels GmbH, die sich als Reiseveranstalter insbesondere mit der Entwicklung des Alpe-Adria-Trails und der Online-Buchungsplattform bockyourtrail.com einen Namen gemacht hat, und die Ennovent GmbH, die das lokale Wissen zu Nepal und der Himalaya-Region, sowie die Erfahrungen mit der Entwicklung von Business Modellen einbringt.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
