Projektziel


Palestinian refugees are a socially disadvantaged group whose lives have been condition for generations by social, political and economic forces well beyond their control. UNRWA’s effort to provide the best possible health care to Palestinian refugees is part of the greater joint mission of the UN and National Governments to address the social determinants of health and to achieve health equity: UNRWA delivers basic health services and is responsible for contributing to a healthy living environment for Palestine refugees in the Middle East.

From among all the Palestine refugees in the Middle East, almost 2 million reside in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. This population in particular suffers from the long-term effects of socio-economic hardship. Specifically in the Gaza Strip, the blockade continues to impair critically the supply of essential medical goods, delaying reconstruction and hindering patient referral.

This grant contributes to the UNRWA health program for Palestinian Refugees in the Middle East and is specifically earmarked towards the 2013 health program for Palestinian Refugees in Gaza and the West Bank.

The overall goal of the health program is to enable Palestinian refugees to live long and healthy lives in Gaza & West Bank. The specific objectives are: 1. ensuring universal access to quality comprehensive primary health care; 2. protecting and promoting family health; 3. preventing and controling diseases. The results which the program aims to achieve include:

o General outpatient services maintained and improved

o Access to hospital care ensured

o Health Centre Infrastructure improved

o Comprehensive Mother & Child Health services delivered

o School health services strengthened

o Mental Health and Family & Child Protection services developed

o Prevention and control of communicable diseases maintained

o Environmental infrastructure improved and environmental health services maintained

  • Modalität: definiert die Art der Hilfe (z.B: Sektorbudgethilfe, Kernbeiträge an multilaterale Institutionen, Projekthilfe, Technische Assistenz (personelle Hilfe), Bildungsarbeit im Inland, etc.)
  • Sektor: bezeichnet den wirtschaftlichen oder sozialen Sektor des Partnerlandes, welcher mit dem Projekt/Programm unterstützt wird.
  • Tied/Untied: Ungebundene (untied) Hilfe ermöglicht dem Projektpartner im Entwicklungsland - unter Befolgung der lokalen Beschaffungsregeln - freie Entscheidung über die Herkunftsländer im Zuge der Beschaffung von Dienstleistungen und Waren. Gebundene (tied) Hilfe verknüpft die Hilfsleistung auf die Beschaffung aus dem Geberland oder aus einem eingeschränkten Kreis von Ländern.
