Projektziel


In accordance with Bhutanese development priorities in the Ninth and Tenth Five Year Plan the tourism sector will be strenghtened to provide job opportunities and to increase high-quality - low-impact tourism and thereby foreign revenues.

A central strategic investment in this regard will be the Hotel & Tourism Management and Training Institute (HTMTI) to be implemented under this project. The Hard ware - building, training kitchen, banqueting facilities and training hotel- is currently being constructed see project (2248-00/2007 ).

The HTMTI will serve as the first Bhutanese training institute in the tourism sector. Until today, training in this sector has only been available abroad.


ARGE Tourism Salzburg with its decades of experience in conducting tourism education programs on all levels will share its experience, provide its know-how to the Bhutanese project partner and jointly develop and implement an internationally recognized curriculum adapted to local needs.

In a two-year program 90 students will be trained in the most important subjects such as tour guiding, food & beverage, hotel management, housekeeping, accounting, and others. An important aspect of the program will be entrepreneurship. Students shall be trained in how to open and run their own businesses. Besides the regular two-year program, H&TMTI will offer higher qualification modules and vocational training for people already working in the industry. This constant improvement in the quality of tourism facilities and its human resources shall in the long run initiate a favourable legal development concerning working laws and the creation of professional representations.

  • Modalität: definiert die Art der Hilfe (z.B: Sektorbudgethilfe, Kernbeiträge an multilaterale Institutionen, Projekthilfe, Technische Assistenz (personelle Hilfe), Bildungsarbeit im Inland, etc.)
  • Sektor: bezeichnet den wirtschaftlichen oder sozialen Sektor des Partnerlandes, welcher mit dem Projekt/Programm unterstützt wird.
  • Tied/Untied: Ungebundene (untied) Hilfe ermöglicht dem Projektpartner im Entwicklungsland - unter Befolgung der lokalen Beschaffungsregeln - freie Entscheidung über die Herkunftsländer im Zuge der Beschaffung von Dienstleistungen und Waren. Gebundene (tied) Hilfe verknüpft die Hilfsleistung auf die Beschaffung aus dem Geberland oder aus einem eingeschränkten Kreis von Ländern.
