Dezentralisierte Integrierte Ländliche Entwicklung
Kurzbeschreibung:
Projektziel
The project aims to support the implementation of two key decentralised rural development processes in the Amatole District of the Eastern Cape, namely the Land Reform and Settlement Plan (LRSP), and locally-driven development arising out of the successful settlement of restitution claims. Both of these processes aim to reduce poverty in the Amatole District. Furthermore, there is considerable policy focus, both nationally and provincial, on these processes and therefore their successful implementation would have a major policy impact. The target groups are communities that have insecure land tenure rights or are landless and which lack adequate infrastructure and services (in the case of the LRSP), and ten communities in the Keiskammahoek area which have recently concluded restitution settlement agreements with the South African government. The main activities will be co-ordination, networking and brokering, institution building, information dissemination and facilitation.
