Emergency support to Syrian refugees
Kurzbeschreibung:
Projektziel
This project aims at supporting 100 vulnerable Syrian refugee families (approx. 400 persons), who have searched refuge in Armenia. Most of the refugees are currently living in Yerevan, accommodated either with relatives or in extremely overcrowded and humiliating conditions. For the upcoming winter, there is pressing need for these families to dwell in save conditions and have access to food, hygiene and material support, where necessary.
This project thus wants to contribute to the support and protection of vulnerable refugee Syrian refugees coming from Syria to Armenia over the winter 2013/14. It wants to enable vulnerable Syriann refugees to access secure and healthy living conditions and to ensure that the vulnerable families have items such as clothing for the winter and food available to them.
Specifically, the intended results of this intervention thus are:
1. 100 vulnerable refugee families from Syria are able to stay in rented apartments during the winter season 2013/14 and receive support to pay for the running costs of the flats made available to them;
2. The refugess have access to thermal clothing during the winter as well as to food and hygiene items throughout the entire project period. To this end, Caritas Armenia will provide monthly vouchers for food, household and hygiene items as well as clothing to these families.
