Projektziel

The project aims at contributing to the promotion of a cross-border perspective in the elaboration and implementation of conflict prevention and peace building policies and strategies in Senegambia (the cross border region between Senegal, Gambia and Guinea Bissau in West Africa). It seeks to strengthen the participation skills and capacities of Non-State Actors and to reinforce the quality of their partnership with local authorities as far as definition and implementation of cross-border local public policies related to peace and security are concerned.

Erwartete Ergebnisse

The expected main results are:

. The local authorities integrate the cross border dimension into their policies and strategies on peacebuilding and conflict prevention through cross-border action plans;

. Transnational citizenship is promoted and contributes to the strengthening of solidarity and good neighborliness in Senegambia and Western Africa;

. Effective advocacy is conducted towards the government and parliamentarians for the adoption of legal and/or institutional frameworks relevant for cross-border initiatives as recommended by ECOWAS and the African Union;

. Expectations and concerns of Non-State Actors will be included in cross-border action plans developed by these actors and Local Authorities.
