Kurzbeschreibung:

Projektziel

The International Crisis Group (ICG) is recognised as a leading independent source of analysis and advice to policymakers on the prevention and resolution of deadly conflicts. Crisis Group’s objective over the next five years is to more effectively reach and influence

the wider and increasingly diverse array of state and non-state actors that play key roles in preventing, mitigating and resolving deadly conflicts.

Erwartete Ergebnisse

Through the implementation of the project, Crisis Group seeks to achieve the following results:

I - Immediate: Enhanced understanding of conflict risks and dynamics as well as of recommended actions designed to prevent, mitigate or resolve deadly conflict.

II - Intermediate: Enhanced discussion and debate that reflects Crisis Group analysis and/or recommendations; and increased steps taken towards modifying or implementing actions.

III - Ultimate: Increased actions taken - including the introduction, modification or implementation of policies that reflect Crisis Group’s recommendations regarding potential and actual conflicts.

Long-term Impact: reduced harm to the civilian population in terms of lives lost and damage to local infrastructure and economies; and gradually increased access by the civilian population to basic levels of social goods and greater protection by the rule of law.

Zielgruppe

The main target groups include thousands of policy makers, opinion makers, conflict actors and civil society, including governments, parliaments, political parties, the military, relevant state ministries, the media, local and international civil society groups, foreign ministries and embassies, and other relevant intergovernmental or supranational bodies with responsibility and capacity to respond to actual or potential conflicts.

An estimated number of direct beneficiaries from services and products of Crisis Group for the years 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 is 5.8 million annually. With a funding share of 0.6% ADA can attribute ca. 35,000 direct beneficiaries to its support to Crisis Group.

The project’s ultimate beneficiaries are the civilians – including women, youth and other vulnerable groups – who live in conflict affected countries or situations of potential conflict or crisis, who will benefit if key conflict stakeholders implement policies or actions that support Crisis Group’s policy recommendations. The project takes place globally, with a focus on around 70 conflict-affected countries.
