KWN - Further Advancing Women's Rights in Kosovo
Kurzbeschreibung:
Projektziel
The anticipated impact of this action is that women’s and girls’ rights and interests are further supported, protected and promoted throughout Kosovo. This will contribute to furthering gender equality, thereby improving the lives of women and men.
Erwartete Ergebnisse
The action’s foreseen outcome is that women-led civil society organizations (WCSOs), the Kosovo Lobby for Gender Equality (KLGE), officials, and development partners will have improved capacities to support, protect and promote women’s and girls’ rights and interests. The expected outputs include: 1) capacity development interventions delivered for WCSOs and KLGE; 2) outreach undertaken towards addressing gender-based violence (GBV); and 3) gender better mainstreamed in development partners’ programs.
Zielgruppe
Target groups include KLGE and its members, approximately 800 diverse women in politics, civil society, Gender Equality Officers (GEOs), and men; 125 KWN member WCSOs of diverse ethnicities, ages, abilities, and geographic areas; officials in all institutions dealing with GBV; at least 7,800 women benefitting from advocacy; development partners; and women and men in Kosovo, more broadly.
Maßnahmen
Activities will include to: distribute transparently sub-grants to diverse WCSOs, enabling ‘learning by doing’; provide tailored mentoring for WCSOs, KLGE and development partners; facilitate networking; advocate implementation of gender equality and GBV legal frameworks; organize awareness campaigns on GBV; monitor GBV court cases; finance strategic litigation; research GBV; and coach development partners.
Hintergrundinformation
KWN seeks to continue its positive cooperation with the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), building on prior results, best practices and lessons learned. The action will contribute to achieving ADA’s strategic objectives, including conflict prevention, reducing inequalities, furthering gender equality, promoting good governance and human rights. It will support implementation of the EU ‘Gender Action Plan II’; Sustainable Development Goals; ADA Kosovo Country Strategy 2013-2020 (human security, peace, rule of law, democratic institutions and good governance); KWN vision, mission and strategic objectives; and Kosovo’s policy framework, especially related to gender equality and GBV.
