Programme Multi-Acteurs d’appui à l’entrepreneuriat agro-sylvo-pastoral des jeunes en milieu rural (PMA)
The multi-actor program aims at contributing to a better access of young girls and boys to stable and economically viable employment in the agro-sylvo-pastoral sector. It seeks to strengthen their technical and entrepreneurial capacity in rural and semi-urban areas in order to assure a better professional integration of the youth in the country's economy.
The expected main results are:
Adequate skills of production and conservation and the improvement of agro-sylvo-pastoral products for at least 600 youths have been built and developed.
The youth is able to set up and manage the process stream and marketing chain for the benefit of young people
Advocacy is ensured for a large dissemination of the results of the Multi actor programm at national level.
The direct beneficiaries are 600 literate, illiterate, out-of-school young girls and boys between 15 and 34 years old of the 4 regions of Burkina Faso. 30% are girls and women. Indirect beneficiaries are 28 480 persons, farm managers, traditional and religious leaders,local elected officials, technical advisors (for agriculture, livestock, environment and education) as well as members of young families .
Main activities will be:
• Development of specific educational skills and vocational training for production, conservation, processing and marketing of agro-sylvo-pastoral products,
• Strengthening the capacities of young people in the installment and management of all stages of processing and marketing,
• Organization of workshops and media campaigns at local and national level in order to raise awareness and sensitize on the achievements of the program.
The project will cover four regions in Burkina Faso: Boucle du Mouhoun, East, Central-South and North. The project area was selected by the local partner, a consortium of local NGOs and associations active in basic education ( Cadre de concertation des ONG et associations actives en éducation de base au Burkina Faso CCEB-BF) after a study showing the constraints in the access to employment in particular for illiterate girls.
