The overall aim of the funding of small projects is the targeted and non-bureaucratic funding of small projects within the strategic framework and in line with the programmatic framework of Austria’s Country Strategy Bhutan 2010 – 2013.
This document is in line with the Three Year Programme on Austrian Development Policy and the 10th Five Year Plan of Bhutan. In line with the efforts of the Bhutanese government, the ADC in Bhutan strives for a more strategic and effective programme and project management, especially for an enhanced results orientation in planning, monitoring and reporting.
ACO Thimphu wants to fund small projects which complement and support the engagement of ADC in line with the above mentioned programmatic framework. The small project fund shall be utilized for undertakings which are conducive to make the development cooperation more professional, more effective and more innovative.
Small projects shall primarily complement measures which are in line with the sectors as laid down in the country strategy, energy, tourism and governance (including Civil Society). Additional areas will be accountability, capacity development and cross cutting Issues such as gender, environment etc.
The small project fund will be utilized for undertakings which are conducive to make the development cooperation more professional, more effective and more innovative and shall enhance further the visibility of ADC in Bhutan.
The main requirement for eligibility of small projects is in compliance with minimum standards in content and quality which are assessed by means of a defined evaluation sheet.
