Projektziel
The overall aim of the small project grant fund is to complement and/or support the engagement of the Austrian Development Cooperation in Bhutan with flexible, targeted and non-bureaucratic funding of small projects. This support takes place within the strategic and programmatic policy frameworks of Austria and Bhutan, such as the Three Year Programme on Austrian Development Policy, the Country Strategy 2019-2023, and the 12th Five Year Plan of Bhutan.
Zielgruppe
ACO pursues with the civil society partners and rural communities to efficiently reach as many as disadvantaged people in underdeveloped socioeconomic areas which are not directly being targeted in the bilateral development programme. Whenever possible, promising innovative development approaches are sought and supported in a pilot mode, and disseminated.
Maßnahmen
The specific areas will be related to restoration of cultural heritage targeting decentralized tourism development, support income generation for rural people, and support to vulnerable groups incl. children, youth and disabled people, as well as improved health services (the latter is the new main Focus of the Royal Government of Bhutan).
Hintergrundinformation
The small project fund shall further generate synergies with the bilateral programme, such as policy support for vulnerable groups, and increase the visibility of the Austrian Development Cooperation in Bhutan. Eligibility of those projects is subject to the assessments of the Austrian Coordination Office based on well-established criteria.
