Rehabilitation Works at Khan Younis Housing Project
Kurzbeschreibung:
Projektziel
The project aims at improving the living conditions of around 100 families within the Austrian Housing Project, who have had their housing units damaged over the past few years as a result of the Israeli incursions and shooting in the area of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip. This particular area was close to the Israeli settlement block of Gosh Katif that was evacuated in September 2005, as part of the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.
The conflict and Israeli gun-fire caused severe damages to tens of apartments in addition to the total destruction of two multi story housing buildings. Since the area is now accessible after the Israeli withdrawal and maintenance and construction works can be carried out, the project is targeting this affected area aiming at improving the overall living conditions.
The project will cover the rehabilitation and maintenance works of damaged apartments and the required destroyed physical infrastructure, in addition to removing the debris of the two destroyed buildings.
