Projektziel


The main objective of the project is to restore, preserve and promote age old traditional distinct cantilever Bridge, improve the track between the Trongsa Dzong and the view point, promote local economy through promotion of tourism and provide shorter access to the local communities to Trongsa Town.


The improvement of the track and the restoration of the Bazam (Traditional Cantilever Bridge) will serve as a new tourism attraction. Whilst currently the tourists have to travel all the way from Wangdue or Punakha by bus, they could after improvement of the track and restoration of the Bridge, walk the last part of the way and enter the Trongsa Dzong through the historic route. Further, the communities who are not able to afford or hire a vehicle, would have the opportunity to use this route as a shortcut to Trongsa and also to bring their farm produce to the Trongsa Market.


The route and the traditional Bridge will be maintained by the Trongsa Dzongkhag after completion of the project.
