Strengthening the professional capacity of the Royal Audit Authority for better governance, Final Phase

Projektziel
The overall objective of the project is to enhance the professional and institutional capacity of the Royal Audit Authority (RAA) thereby (1) strengthening accountability, transparency, efficiency, and effectiveness in governance and (2) promoting compliance with the National Policy for Persons with Disabilities to improve accessibility of infrastructure for people with disabilities (PwD).
Erwartete Ergebnisse
- Enhanced professional capacity of 262 auditors through training on accounting and emerging audit issues resulting in improved audit reports.
- Improved and more accessible RAA training facilities including through the creation of ICT platforms to provide e-learning.
Zielgruppe
In total 262 auditors (55 women) of the RAA will directly benefit from training interventions on auditing hydropower plants and other emerging issues including on rights of PwD.
Maßnahmen
- Two auditors will complete training to become Certified Professional Accountants.
- 60 auditors will be trained on auditing hydropower plants.
- 200 auditors will be trained on emerging issues including on the rights of people with disabilities.
- ICT equipment will be procured for data analytics and for setting up an innovation lab.
- The Professional Development Centre of the RAA will be retrofitted to make it accessible to people with disabilities.
Hintergrundinformation
The project goal is aligned to the RAA’s Strategic Plan 2020-2025, the 12th Five-Year Plan (2018–2023) and SDG 16 (target 16.5: Substantially reduce corruption and bribery in all their forms and target. 16.6: Develop effective, accountable, and transparent institutions at all levels). The activities were prioritized based on an analysis of capacity needs, management and staff consultations and have been endorsed by the Human Resources and Governance Committee. Through targeted training awareness will be raised among auditors about the need for carrying out audits from an inclusive lens to ensure everyone benefits from government policies, public construction projects or any other developmental activities. Auditors will be capacitated to issue recommendations about the adaptation or construction of infrastructure that is accessible to PwD.
