Projektziel



The Global Partnership for Prevention of Armed Conflict (GPPAC) is a world-wide civil- society-led network that seeks to build a new international consensus and joint action on peace building and prevention of violent conflict. The longer-term goal is to achieve a global shift from reaction to prevention of armed conflict. GPPAC is organised through fifteen regions.

With Austrian funding in the past three years several activities have been supported which were: the formulation of the Global Action Agenda (which was presented at the international conference at the UN 2005), the support of the Global Partnership in terms of awareness raising, communication, steering and coordination and the support of two regional conferences in South Africa.

The new proposal aims at supporting the implementation of the Action Agenda and at consolidating the new GPPAC Work plan 2006-2010: ADA will support three of five programmes in this plan, namely: Building national and regional capacity for prevention (Network Building in the Balkans and in the Caucasus), mobilizing civil society early response actions to prevent violent conflicts (Early Warning and Early Response) and Communication which is part of Awareness Raising.

  • Modalität: definiert die Art der Hilfe (z.B: Sektorbudgethilfe, Kernbeiträge an multilaterale Institutionen, Projekthilfe, Technische Assistenz (personelle Hilfe), Bildungsarbeit im Inland, etc.)
  • Sektor: bezeichnet den wirtschaftlichen oder sozialen Sektor des Partnerlandes, welcher mit dem Projekt/Programm unterstützt wird.
  • Tied/Untied: Ungebundene (untied) Hilfe ermöglicht dem Projektpartner im Entwicklungsland - unter Befolgung der lokalen Beschaffungsregeln - freie Entscheidung über die Herkunftsländer im Zuge der Beschaffung von Dienstleistungen und Waren. Gebundene (tied) Hilfe verknüpft die Hilfsleistung auf die Beschaffung aus dem Geberland oder aus einem eingeschränkten Kreis von Ländern.
