Unterstützung des ECHO Humanitarian Implementation Plan West Africa (ECHO-BF)

Projektziel
The Action will primarily focus on the Boucle du Mouhoun where Austria has expressed its interest in strengthening humanitarian assistance of the most vulnerable populations at risk of a health crisis due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, while also contributing to the prevention and mitigation of the spread of the virus. The action will take a gender and age sensitive approach (score 1 or 2 according to the ECHO Age/Gender Marker) and keep in mind the long-term development of the region in order to build resilience and fight poverty.
Erwartete Ergebnisse
The core objective is to improve access to healthcare and reduce the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, through supporting the national health system respond to the Covid-19 outbreak in the Boucle du Mouhoun region, including with community-based information, sensitization and case detection capacity. The action will also strengthen child protection in the Covid-19 context.
Zielgruppe
About 2.865 direct beneficiaries in the Boucle du Mouhoun Region will be reached.
Maßnahmen
Results and outputs of the Action will be defined on the basis of those of the projects co-funded by Austria.
The selection of actions retained for financing falls under the sole responsibility of the Commission. Funding requests, including those that may be receiving a contribution from Austria under this Action, will be assessed and selected according the criteria specified in the 2020 West Africa Humanitarian Implementation Plan (HIP) and Technical Annex.
ECHO may consider the following in order to take a decision on which actions to be co-funded:
1. Actions implemented in the Boule du Mouhoun region, without excluding actions in other regions;
2. Actions in the sectors of Health, Water sanitation and Child Protection, without excluding other sectors;
3. Actions implemented by International NGOs.
Hintergrundinformation
The funds are so called "External Assigned Revenues" to the 2020 West Africa HIP earmarked for Burkina Faso/Boucle du Mouhoun. ECHO will select and contract locally operating NGOs to implement the Action.
