Overall goal


Das Klimabündnis Österreich ist eine Partnerschaft zum Schutz des Weltklimas zwischen europäischen PartnerInnen und den indigenen Völkern des Amazonas-Regenwaldes.

Die Ökostaffel für "Fairen Handel, Klimaschutz und Nachhaltigkeit" ist seit dem Jahr 2000 als fixer entwicklungspolitischer "Sommerevent" erfolgreich etabliert und wird in enger Zusammenarbeit mit FairTrade Österreich durchgeführt. Mehr als 150 Klimabündnisgemeinden nehmen teil. Seit 2004 führt die Route auch in die neuen EU-Nachbarländer, Italien und die Schweiz beteiligen sich mit Sternfahrten.


Die Ökostaffel 2006 steht weiterhin im Zeichen der Millenniumsziele 1 und 7 - verstärkt sollen im kommenden Jahr Aspekte des Millenniumsziels 8 "Eine globale Partnerschaft im Dienste der Entwicklung schaffen" einfließen.

Die Kampagne spricht in einem relativ kurzen Zeitraum (knapp 3 Wochen) eine hohe Zahl von Menschen in Österreich und in den angrenzenden Ländern an: 2005 haben sich mehr als 7.000 Menschen aktiv an der Staffel beteiligt (darunter unter anderem 120 BürgermeisterInnen), etwa 20.000 sind als ZuschauerInnen / BesucherInnen gekommen. Über 150 Klimabündnisgemeinden - und solche, die es noch werden wollen - nehmen als Etappenorte zur Staffelholz-Übergabe an der Tour teil. Die Resonanz in den regionalen und überregionalen Medien (über 100 Printmedienberichte, über 30 Beiträge in Radio und TV) ist beachtlich.


Das Projekt wird aus OEZA-Mitteln in der Höhe von Euro 28.000,00 (32,66 % des Gesamtprojektvolumens) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
