Hintergrundinformation
At the crossroads of migratory routes between Africa and Europe, Tunisia plays an increasingly significant role as a country of transit and destination for people forced to flee. In 2023, movement patterns to and through the country and wider region have increased in scale. As a matter of fact, Tunisia has become a major regional hub for displaced population movements. In this context, refugees and asylum-seekers, especially children and others who are particularly vulnerable, continue to experience challenges accessing protection, basic rights and covering their most pressing needs, such as shelter or food.
