Overall goal


Der zentrale Arbeitsbereich von BAOBAB ist die Führung der Bibliothek Globales Lernen mit einem Bestand von ca. 6.500 Medien. Die bundesweiten Basisdienstleistungen umfassen Recherche, Beschaffung, Erfassung und Verleih von pädagogischen Materialien für die schulische und außerschulische Bildungsarbeit, die Bereitstellung - zum Teil auch als Online-Angebote - von Unterrichtshilfen und didaktischen Tipps und Beratung. Seit Herbst 2009 ist die Bibliothek im neuen C3 - Centrum für internationale Entwicklung neu organisiert.

BAOBAB koordiniert den Verbund entwicklungspolitischer Bibliotheken zum Globalen Lernen und ist für die Pflege, Kontrolle und Weiterentwicklung des Online-Bibliothekskatalogs zuständig, in dem der Österreich weite Bestand von zehn Bibliotheken erfasst wird.

Die Weltbilder-Medienstelle betreut wichtige Anliegen im Zusammenhang mit entwicklungspolitischer Filmarbeit (Archiv, Datenbank, Verleih, Kooperationen, Produktionen, Medienkompetenz). Hauptaktivitäten sind die Wartung und Aktualisierung von Filmmaterial, die Koordination des bundesweiten Medienangebots, die Produktion und Produktionsbegleitung von DVDs zu ausgewählten Themen, die Erstellung von Begleitmaterialien, entsprechende Öffentlichkeitsarbeit über Infodienste und Internet.

Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von Euro 225.612 in der Höhe von Euro 150.000 (66,49%) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
