Overall goal


Die ÖFSE bietet Information, Dokumentation und Beratung zu entwicklungspolitisch relevanten Themen.


Einen Kernbereich bildet die wissenschaftliche Fachbibliothek für Entwicklungspolitik mit einem Bestand von rund 60.000 Bänden und 120 laufend geführten Zeitschriften, ergänzt um den Informationsbereich und die Dokumentation.


Seit September 2009 ist die ÖFSE im „C3 - Centrum für Internationale Entwicklung“ angesiedelt, wo gemeinsam mit den BibliothekspartnerInnen Frauensolidarität und BAOBAB die „C3 Bibliothek für Entwicklungspolitik“ realisiert wurde.

Ziele im C3-Bibliotheksbereich sind 2012-2013 die Katalogzusammenlegung mit Frauensolidarität und dem Österreichischen Lateinamerika-Institut (LAI), die Integration eines aktuellen Teilbestandes der LAI-Bibliothek, ein weiterer Ausbau von Dienstleistungen, Services und C3-Öffentlichkeitsarbeit sowie Bestandserweiterung, Katalogpflege und Altdatenintegration.


Im Rahmen der Informations- und Dokumentationsarbeit sind die Reduktion und Neugestaltung der Websites, die Neukonzeption der Länderinformationen, die Evaluierung der von der ÖFSE betriebenen Datenbanken zu EZA-Institutionen, Projekten und Spenden und die Schaffung neuer Angebote in diesem Bereich vorgesehen.


2012-2014 planen die C3-Organisationen (ÖFSE, Frauensolidarität, BAOBAB Globales Lernen, Paulo Freire Zentrum, Mattersburger Kreis) einen gemeinsamen inhaltlichen Schwerpunkt zu den Themen „Bildung und Entwicklung“ und „Bildung und Migration“, zu dem Aktivitäten der Informationsaufbereitung und -vermittlung, Forschung, Beratung sowie eine gemeinsame Veranstaltungsreihe stattfinden.

Die Qualität der Veranstaltungsservices wird weiter ausgebaut.


Zielgruppen des Programms sind die entwicklungspolitisch interessierte Öffentlichkeit, EZA-AkteurInnen in öffentlichen und privaten Einrichtungen sowie der universitäre Bereich.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von Euro 1.240.778 in der Höhe von Euro 1.116.700 (90%) für 2 Jahre gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
