Overall goal


Das Institut für Umwelt, Friede und Entwicklung orientiert sich am Leitbild der Nachhaltigkeit und will über seine Jahresprogramme zu einer Auseinandersetzung mit Themen der österreichischen EZA und Entwicklungspolitik beitragen. Das IUFE hat seinen Sitz an der Politischen Akademie der ÖVP, deren Umfeld zu den Kernzielgruppen des IUFE zählt. Das Projekt versteht sich als eine Fortführung des Vorläuferprojekts von 2007-2009.


Die Projektaktivitäten 2010 umfassen eine Dialogrunde und eine eintägige Fachtagung zum Thema der Neuen Grünen Revolution in Afrika, Klimaseminare für KommunalpolitikerInnen in NÖ und OÖ, Dialogrunden und Buchpräsentationen in den Bundesländern und eine Abendveranstaltung zu Global Governance am Beispiel Biodiversität. Daneben wird das Onlineangebot (Newsletter, Homepage mit Berichten und inhaltlichen Beiträgen zum Download, sowie Podcasts zum Nachhören von Tagungs- und Veranstaltungsbeiträgen) weiter ausgebaut und die Vernetzungstätigkeiten mit anderen AkteurInnen werden weitergeführt.


Der geographische Fokus der Dialogrunde und der Fachtagung 2010 sind OEZA-Partnerländer in Subsahara-Afrika. Dadurch besteht auch ein Zusammenhang mit dem ADA-Förderschwerpunkt 2010 KeNako Afrika.


Hauptzielgruppe sind politische EntscheidungsträgerInnen insbesondere der ÖVP, daneben MultiplikatorInnen aus Verwaltung, Wissenschaft, NRO und kirchlichen Gruppen sowie zunehmend auch Studierende.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 82.000,00 in der Höhe von EUR 50.000,00 (60,98%) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
