Overall goal


Die Ndere Foundation vermittelt als Begründer eines Netzwerkes verschiedener Initiativen des Entwicklungs- und Bildungstheaters der ugandischen Bevölkerung wichtige Inhalte in den Bereichen sozialer Kompetenz, Frieden und Demokratisierung, Anwendung verbesserter landwirtschaftlicher Praktiken und ähnliches. Dabei werden - wie bei kaum einem anderen Medium - Bewohner der ländlichen Gebiete und auch Randgruppen erreicht. Dem Thema Gender wird sowohl im thematischen Bereich als auch in organisatorischen Fragen besonderes Augenmerk gewidmet.


Das Oberziel in der Schaffung eines Theaterzentrums ist die Förderung der darstellenden Künste und des Entwicklungstheaters in Uganda. Weiters soll das Zentrum eine Plattform bieten, den Austausch zwischen Entwicklungsfragen und Kunst, insbesondere Theater, sowohl auf nationaler als auch internationaler Ebene zu stärken.

Spezifisch sollen in dieser Phase Ergänzungen und Verbesserungen der Bausubstanz aus Phase I und II vorgenommen werden ('Remedial Works') und die Anlage um folgende Gebäude erweitert werden; ein 'Artist Accomodation Village' für Ndere Troupe - eine Unterkunft für etwa 24 junge Mitglieder der Troupe, einen Gebäudetrakt mit Büros und Studios, einen Küchentrakt sowie diverse kleine Lagerräume. Diese Erweiterungen sind die Fortsetzung des bisherigen Engagements und entspricht der vereinbarten stufenweisen Komplettierung entsprechend einer gemeinsamen Prioritätensetzung.


Es wird erwartet, dass durch die zusätzlichen Gebäude und den Umzug von Ndere Troupe auf das Areal des Zentrums dieses belebt und der Kulturbetrieb dynamischer vorangetrieben werden kann.


Verbindung zu Projekt:

Der gegenständliche Fördervertrag ergänzt das bisherige Engagement der ÖEZA, im Rahmen dessen seit 1994 die praktische Arbeit der Ndere Troupe und seit 1999 das Veranstaltungszentrum der Ndere Foundation unterstützt wird.
