Overall goal


Die von Cross Cultural Communication produzierte Fernseh-Sendereihe "30 minutes African Art" wird im österreichischen Community TV-Kanal "Okto" ausgestrahlt und präsentiert preisgekrönte afrikanische Kurz-, Animations-, und Spielfilme sowie Interviews und Künstlerporträts zum Thema Afrika. "Okto" kann im Wiener Kabelfernsehen sowie in ganz Österreich über Satellit und übers Internet als Webstream empfangen werden.


Von Juni bis September 2007 werden im Rahmen des Programmschwerpunkts "Die Filme der Frauen aus Afrika" an 5 Sendeterminen Filme afrikanischer Regisseurinnen ausgestrahlt.


An einem weiteren Sendetermin werden in einer Studiodiskussion 3 afrikanische Regisseurinnen mit FilmemacherInnen, JournalistInnen und FilmexpertInnen aus Österreich und dem interessierten Publikum diskutieren. Die anderen Regisseurinnen haben die Möglichkeit, Video-Statements zu schicken. Die Beteiligung des Publikums via Internet ist vorgesehen. Die Begegnungen sollen den Aufbau eines Netzwerks bzw. von Kooperationen zwischen österr. und afrikanischen Filmemacherinnen anregen.


Eine Sondersendung Ende September präsentiert einen Zusammenschnitt des gesamten Projektes mit Interviews, Filmausschnitten und Studiodiskussion.


Ziel des Projekts ist u.a. die Auseinandersetzung mit der Rolle der afrikanischen Frau als Regisseurin und Produzentin. Produktionen afrikanischer Filmemacherinnen, die das Leben und die Situation aus eigener Sicht wiedergeben, zu zeigen. Afrikanerinnen kommen selbst zu Wort und erzählen ihre eigenen Geschichten. Die in der öffentlichen Wahrnehmung oft negative oder einseitige Perspektive Afrikas soll relativiert werden.


Zielgruppen sind das interessierte Fernsehpublikum, Kunst-, Kultur- und Afrikainteressierte, in Österreich lebende AfrikanerInnen und NRO.

Kooperationspartner: Baobab, Filme für eine Welt (Schweiz), themenspezifische NRO, Kinos.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 11.500,00 in der Höhe von

EUR 9.700,00 (84,35%) gefördert.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries.
