Overall goal


Das Projekt "Kalahari San Tunes" ist eine Gesamtdokumentation der Tänze von San-Gruppen aus dem gesamten südlichen Afrika, gefilmt von Werner Zips und Manuela Zips-Mairitsch beim Kuru Dance Festival 2005 in Botswana.


Die Projektaktivitäten umfassen die Produktion und Publikation einer DVD sowie eine Fernsehausstrahlung auf Bayern Alpha Österreich im Juni 2008.


Das Projekt leistet einen Beitrag zur Dokumentation von bedrohtem immateriellen Kulturerbe bzw. kultureller Diversität. Die Produktion soll zur Anerkennung der kulturellen Rechte der San und anderer indigener Minderheiten beitragen und auf das außergewöhnliche künstlerische Potenzial dieser Gruppen aufmerksam machen. Die kulturellen Rechte der San sind ein viel diskutiertes Menschenrechtsthema. Am 14. September 2007 verabschiedete die UN-Generalversammlung die "Erklärung zu den Rechten der indigenen Völker".


Die DVD enthält eine umfassende und strukturierte filmische Präsentation einzelner Tanzeinheiten in Kurzbeiträgen von 5-25 Minuten und erscheint mit einem 6-seitigen Booklet in einer Auflage von 1.000 Stück. Die einzelnen Einheiten werden im DVD-Menü übersichtlich in Heilungs- und Trancetänze, individuelle musikalische Darbietungen und einen Teil der Unterhaltungs- und darstellenden Tänze unterteilt.


Ziel- bzw. Dialoggruppen sind sozialwissenschaftlich interessierte Personen, Menschenrechtsorganisationen, SchülerInnen, MusikethnologInnen, TanzanthropologInnen. Die DVD wird auch dem Programmarchiv der Akademie der Wissenschaften zugänglich gemacht.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 8.150,00 in der Höhe von

EUR 3.650,00 (44,79%) gefördert.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
