Overall goal


Die ÖOG-HP pflegt die Kontakte zwischen Österreich und den Ländern des islamischen Orients, informiert über Einrichtungen und Entwicklungen in Nordafrika, dem Nahen und Mittleren Osten, in den Ländern Zentralasiens und Südkaukasiens, betreut Studierende aus diesen Ländern und bemüht sich, den interkulturellen Dialog zu vertiefen. Zu den Kernfunktionen gehören: Beratung und Informationsvermittlung, Durchführung v. Veranstaltungen, ReferentInnen- und KünstlerInnenvermittlung, Öffentlichkeitsarbeit (u.a. Pressearbeit, Publikationen). Seit 2001 gibt es den Lehrgang für akademische Orient-Studie und dessen Veranstaltungsangebot gut strukturiert..


Die ÖOG-HP setzt 2006 ihr Veranstaltungs- und Beratungsprogramm fort, in dessen Mittelpunkt Regionen und Themen mit hoher weltpolitischer Brisanz und Aktualität stehen. Es ist zu erwarten, dass das Angebot der ÖOG-HP im Rahmen der Kernfunktion Informationsvermittlung und Beratung angesichts der aktuellen weltpolitischen Ereignisse (Internationaler Terrorismus, Palästina-Konflikt, Irak, Afghanistan) weiterhin stark nachgefragt wird. Das Jahresprogramm der ÖOG_HP greift wichtige Themen der OEZA bzw. des Förderprogramms für die entwicklungspolitische Informations-, Bildungs- Kultur- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit 2004 - 2006 auf (Konfliktprävention und Friedenssicherung) und fördert den Dialog der Kulturen. Besondere Schwerpunkte bilden das Thema "Islamische Welten und Globalisierung" sowie die EU-Außenpolitik in der Region. Weiters sind für das Jahr 2006 die Durchführungen von zwei Ländersymposion (Jordanien, Türkei), 2-6 Fachsymposien (zu den Bereichen Wirtschaft, Politik und Entwicklungszusammenarbeit) sowie zahlreiche Vorträge geplant. Für einen Teil der Veranstaltungen ist die Herausgabe von Symposien -oder Beitragsberichten geplant, um einen breiteren Kreis an Interessierten zu informieren.

Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 191.389,- in der Höhe von EUR 79.822,- (41,71 %) gefördert.
