Overall goal


Die vorrangige Zielsetzung des Mattersburger Kreises für Entwicklungspolitik an den Österreichischen Universitäten ist Wissenschaft, Forschung und universitäre Lehre mit der entwicklungspolitischen Praxis zu verbinden.

Die Entwicklungspolitische Bildungs- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit des Mattersburger Kreises umfasst 2014 die Herausgabe des viermal jährlich in einer Auflage von 700 Stück erscheinenden wissenschaftlichen Journals für Entwicklungspolitik (JEP) sowie die Publikationsreihe ,Historische Sozialkunde' (HSK), welche aktuelle und gut verständliche Einführungen in entwicklungspolitisch relevante Forschungsbereiche bietet. 2014 erscheint in dieser Reihe ein Sammelband zum Thema ‚Landgrabbing. Landnahmen in historischer und globaler Perspektive‘. Geplante Themen des Journals für Entwicklungspolitik 2014 sind: Wissen für Entwicklung und Hochschulbildung; Rethinking Resistance in Development Studies; Finanzialisierung von Nahrung, Land und Natur; Prekarität/Prekarisierung.

Zu jeder Neuerscheinung wird eine Buch- bzw. Heftpräsentation veranstaltet.

Weiters ist eine Konzepterstellung zur Digitalisierung des JEP geplant.

Der Mattersburger Kreis beteiligt sich weiterhin an der Veranstaltungsreihe ‚Bildung im C3ntrum‘ des C3 - Centrum für Internationale Entwicklung.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von Euro 58.100,- in der Höhe von Euro 40.000.- ( 68,85 %) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
