Overall goal


Das Institut für Umwelt, Friede und Entwicklung orientiert sich am Leitbild der Nachhaltigkeit und will über seine Jahresprogramme zu einer Auseinandersetzung mit Kernthemen der österreichischen EZA und Entwicklungspolitik beitragen. Das IUFE hat seinen Sitz an der Politischen Akademie der ÖVP, deren Umfeld zu den Kernzielgruppen des IUFE zählt. Um dieses koordiniert anzusprechen, sind im Laufe der drei Jahre Veranstaltungen in allen Bundesländern vorgesehen.


Es werden im Rahmen des Dreijahresprojektes jährlich zwei Dialogrunden und 1 - 3 Arbeitskreise durchgeführt. Die Ergebnisse werden in Publikationen (Books on Demand) veröffentlicht. Die Mitarbeit an einem Lehrgang für KommunalpolitkerInnen wird fortgesetzt; ebenso die Mitwirkung im Forum Nachhaltigkeit sowie im Beirat des Projektes "Parlamentarischer Nord-Süd Dialog".


Für 2007 sind konkret ein Interkulturelles Handlungstraining, eine Fachtagung zu Global Governance und eine Lesung mit Prof. Obrecht geplant. Die aktuellen Programme für 2008 und 2009 werden im Zuge der regelmäßigen Berichterstattung vorgelegt.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 271.600,00 in der Höhe von

EUR 165.000,00 (60,75%) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
