Overall goal


Die Afrikanische Wasserfazilität (AWF) ist ein bei der Afrikanischen Entwicklungsbank angesiedelter Fonds, mit dem der Wassersektor (Infrastruktur, Forschung, Informationsaustausch, etc.) auf dem gesamten Kontinent gezielt gefördert werden soll. Das gegenwärtige Projekt konzentriert sich auf die Operationalisierung und Realisierung des Bereiches Wissens- und Informationsaufbau und -verteilung für die AWF. Es geht zunächst darum ein "image" und eine Kommunikationsstrategie für die AWF zu erarbeiten um einen höheren Bekanntheitsgrad der AWF zu erreichen und dessen Ziele und Aktivitäten besser zu kommunizieren. Dies sollte weitere Zahlungen in den AWF Fonds sichern damit dessen Nachhaltigkeit und Funktionsfähigkeit gewährleistet bleibt. Weiters soll eine fundierte Analyse des heutigen Wissensaustausches zum Thema und zur Problematik Wasser am afrikanischen Kontinent durchgeführt werden um folglich eine Strategie erarbeiten zu können wie der Informations- und Wissensaustausch in Afrika technologisch gefördert werden kann.


Das Projekt wird durch die beiden bereits laufenden Projekte 2318-00/2005 Unterstützung der Afrikanischen Wasserfazilität (Beitrag in den AWF Fonds) und 2352-00/2005 Secondment zur Afrikanischen Entwicklungsbank thematisch ergänzt.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
