Overall goal


Die von Voluntaris organisierten Freiwilligendienste bieten Menschen mit Berufserfahrung die Möglichkeit, sich im Rahmen einer freiwilligen Tätigkeit im Bereich der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit zu engagieren. Die ProjektpartnerInnen vor Ort sind anerkannte lokale NGOs oder kirchliche ProjektträgerInnen in Afrika, Asien, Lateinamerika und Osteuropa.

Das Programm umfasst Bewerbungs- und Auswahlverfahren, Auswahl eines geeigneten Projektes, Unterstützung bei der inhaltlichen und organisatorischen Vorbereitung auf den Auslandseinsatz, und Begleitung der Freiwilligen während des Einsatzes. Alle Freiwilligen sind Teil eines bestehenden Arbeitsteams und unterstützen lokale Projektverantwortliche. Der Einsatz in einem Entwicklungsland wird als interkultureller Lernprozess verstanden. Neben der Reflexion der Erfahrungen setzen sich die RückkehrerInnen weiter mit entwicklungspolitischen Themen auseinander und engagieren sich in Österreich für entwicklungspolitische Arbeit. In den Jahren 2014-2015 werden insgesamt 35 Freiwillige im Einsatz sein (Dauer 6-12 Monate) und 23 RückkehrerInnen betreut.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von Euro 263.000,- in der Höhe von 134.000,- (50,95%) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
