Short Description:

Overall goal


Die von Voluntaris organisierten Freiwilligendienste bieten Personen mit Lebens- und Berufserfahrung die Möglichkeit, sich im Rahmen einer freiwilligen Tätigkeit im Bereich der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit zu engagieren. Nach entsprechender Vorbereitung der Freiwilligen, ermöglicht das Programm im Rahmen eines etwa 6-monatigem Einsatz, persönliche Begegnungen sowie interkulturellen Austausch in etwa 20 Projekten weltweit.


Expected results


Die rund 15 Freiwilligen unterstützen nach entsprechender Vorbereitung in Österreich durchschnittlich 6 Monate lang lokale ProjektpartnerInnen. Die Erfahrungen aus der konkreten Projektmitarbeit vor Ort, gezieltes De-briefing nach der Rückkehr sowie weiterführende Bildungsmaßnahmen für die ProgrammteilnehmerInnen in Österreich, führen zu entwicklungspolitischem und vernetztem Engagement einer RückkehrerInnen-Gruppe (etwa 40), die auch Freiwillige der vergangenen Jahre miteinschließt.


Target group / Beneficiaries


Kernzielgruppe sind berufs- und lebenserfahrene Menschen aus Österreich, die sich etwa um die Lebensmitte im internationalen Kontext persönlich weiterbilden und entwicklungspolitisch engagieren wollen. Kooperationspartner im Ausland sind anerkannte lokale NGOs oder kirchliche ProjektträgerInnen in Afrika, Asien, Lateinamerika und Osteuropa, die im Sozial- oder Bildungsbereich tätig sind. Kooperationspartner in Österreich sind zahlreiche Organisationen der entwicklungspolitischen Inlandsarbeit bzw. der internationalen Entwicklungszusammenarbeit. Durch spezielle Angebote werden die Freiwilligen bereits bei den Vorbereitungskursen mit diesen bekannt gemacht.


Activities


Die Aktivitäten umfassen die Hauptbereiche Werbung und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit, Auswahl und Vorbereitung, Einsatz vor Ort, RückkehrerInnen-Arbeit. Betreuung und Begleitung der TeilnehmerInnen sowie Motivation zu einem längerfristigen entwicklungspolitischen Engagement stehen im Zentrum.


Context


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von Euro 196.000 mit Euro 133.000 (67,86%) für 2 Jahre gefördert.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
