Context

In Albania GBV has been recognized as one of the most pressing gender equality issues. According to the available reports and research the most common type of GBV is domestic violence. Albania has ratified the Istanbul Convention, nevertheless the relevant changes in legislative and policy framework aimed to improve institutional response and support are yet to be harmonized with its requirements.
