Die Universität für Bodenkultur - Institut für nachhaltige Agrarwirtschaft hält gemeinsam mit der Makere University Kampala (MUK) den International Training Course on Organic Agriculture (formerly 'Summerschool') im Juli 2007 ab.

Das Ziel dieses Kurses ist die Institutionalisierung der Fortbildung und Curricularentwicklung im Bereich biologischer Landwirtschaft und die regionale und internationale Kooperation. Der Kurs trägt zur Weiterentwicklung des 'Organic Food' Sektors in Uganda, der mittlerweile über 45.000 Landwirte umfasst. Zielgruppe sind 15 Studierende aus Uganda, Tanzania und Kenya, sowie 10 Studierende aus Europa (die sich diesen Kurs selbst finanzieren). Die Fortbildung im universitären Bereich der technischen Kapazitäten ist erforderlich, um den steigenden Anforderungen im technischen als auch im Marketing und Management Bereich nachzukommen.

Internationale Netzwerke und der dadurch entstehende Wissenstransfer sind unumgänglich in der Weiterentwicklung im Bereich der ländlichen Entwicklung. Der Kurs findet sowohl in der Makere Universität als auch in der Praxis bei laufenden bio-landwirtschaftlichen Projekten in Uganda statt. Weitere Partner sind die Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in Tanzania, sowie einige regionale NGO's.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
