Overall goal


Oikocredit ist eine ökomenische Entwicklungsgenossenschaft, die Mikrokredit- und Projektfinanzierung als Entwicklungsinstrumente anbietet. Seit 1990 ist die Organisation in Österreich tätig. Neben der Zielsetzung Kredite und Mittel für die Entwicklung im Süden bereit zu stellen, bei dem jeder/jede einen aktiven Beitrag zur Entwicklungszusammenarbeit leisten kann, soll auch das entwicklungspolitische Bewusstsein gefördert werden. Zielsetzung ist eine öffentliche Auseinandersetzung zum Thema Mikrokredite zu initiieren und Oikokredit einer größeren Zielgruppe vorzustellen.


Da sich Oikocredit Austria bis vor kurzem fast ausschließlich nur auf ehrenamtliche Strukturen stützen konnte, ist die Bekanntheit noch sehr gering. Einerseits soll eine öffentliche Auseinandersetzung über das entwicklungspolitische Instrument Mikrokredite initiiert bzw. verstärkt werden, andererseits wird Oikocredit einer größeren Zielgruppe als neue Möglichkeit des privaten Sektors sich entwicklungspolitisch zu engagieren vorgestellt. Die geplanten Maßnahmen sind die Durchführung von Veranstaltungen und Vorträgen, die Erweiterung der Informationsmaterialien, der Ausbau der Pressearbeit und der Aufbau eines MultiplikatorInnenpools.


Es ist geplant die Maßnahmen in Kooperation mit entwicklungspolitischen Organisationen und Finanzinstitutionen durchzuführen, um deren Netzwerkkontakte, PartnerInnen, sowie Mitglieder/KundInnen für die Informationsverbreitung zu nützen. Zielgruppen der Maßnahmen sind Menschen, die nach ethischen Kapitalanlageformen suchen, entwicklungspolitisch interessierte Personen/In-stitutionen, Medien, MeinungsbildnerInnen und MultiplikatorInnen.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 35.000,- der Höhe von

EUR 23.000,- (66 %) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
