Overall goal


Das semi-nomadisch lebende Viehhirtenvolk der Afar lebt in einer der heißesten Siedlungsgebiete der Erde - in der Afar-Wüste, im Nord-Osten Äthiopiens. SONNE - International ist im Projektgebiet seit 2005 mit seinem vielschichtigen Entwicklungsprogramm als einzige NGO aktiv (alle vier Projekte werden von der ADA zumindest mit 50% co-finanziert). Ziel ist es, alle notwenigen Basisbereiche aufzubauen, die für eine eigenständige Entwicklung der Menschen in der Region notwendig sind.

Aufbauend auf das nach drei Jahren (von 2005 bis 2008) zu Ende gehende Alphabetisierungsprojekt, in dem 7000 Menschen lesen und schreiben lernten und 700 Kinder informellen Schulunterricht erhielten, soll nun den Kindern und Jugendlichen eine darauf aufbauende dreijährige Schulbildung angeboten werden. Ziel ist es, durch den Einsatz von 30 Nomadenlehrern den Bildungsstandard in der Bevölkerung stark anzuheben und dadurch den schulisch gebildeten Menschen verbesserte Zukunftschancen einzuräumen.

Erwartete Resultate:

- Insgesamt sollen nach Projektbeendigung 1200 Menschen eine drei-jährige Grundschulausbildung erhalten haben sowie 1200Menschen zusätzlcih alphabetisiert sein

- 30 Lehrer unterrichten durchschnittlich jeweils 40 SchülerInnen

- Jährlich findet eine 2-monatige Lehrerfortbildung für alle 30 Lehrer statt.

Aktivitäten:

- Rekrutierung von 30 Nomadenlehrern

- Ausstattung aller Lehrer und Schüler mit Lehr und Lernmaterialien

- Abhaltung von 2-monatigen Trainings für Lehrer

- Durchführung des alternativen Schulunterrichts an 10 Monaten des Jahres.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
