Overall goal


2004 wurde das Paulo Freire Zentrum als Zentrum für transdisziplinäre Entwicklungsforschung und Bildung, vom Mattersburger Kreis und ÖFSE gegründet. Mit dem Paulo Freire Zentrum ist ein öffentlicher Raum für die Reflexion entwicklungspolitischer Praxis sowie die Verbindung von Wissenschaft und Praxis geschaffen. Die Träger des Zentrums möchten damit Forschung und Bildung zu Kernfragen der OEZA aufbauend auf einem dialogischen Grundprinzip stärken.


2008 organisiert das Paulo Freire Zentrum die Entwicklungstagung 2008. Das Projekt setzt sich aus zwei Teilprojekten zusammen. Teil A entspricht dem Kernprojekt 'Paulo Freire Zentrum' zu dessen Maßnahmenplan eine Fortbildungsreihe mit Univ-. Prof. Andreas Novy und Dr. Gerald Faschingeder, ein Mentoring-Programm sowie die Website www.paulofreirezentrum.at zählen. 2008 wird auch eine eigenständige Rechtsform entwickelt. Teil B ist die Entwicklungtagung zum Thema: 'Wachstum - Umwelt - Entwicklung', welche von Freitag 14. - bis Sonntag 16. November 2008 in Innsbruck stattfindet. Zielsetzung ist eine Reduktion der Fragmentierung zwischen Öko-Organisationen und Entwicklungs-Organisationen. Eine angemessene Zeitdimension für einen ausführlichen inhaltlichen Diskurs ist vorgesehen. Im Vorfeld werden Workshops in Tirol, Osttirol, Salzburg und Wien durchgeführt, um eine optimale Vorbereitung für die Entwicklungstagung zu gewährleisten, bei der 300 bis 400 BesucherInnen erwartet werden.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 150.330,00 in der Höhe von EUR 101.000,00 (67,19 %) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
