Overall goal

Das Buch ist der 19. Band der Reihe "Edition Weltregionen" und bietet eine Einführung in die Geschichte Afrikas von 1500 bis 1900.

Der inhaltliche Bogen spannt sich von Politik und Gesellschaften in Afrika südlich der Sahara, Modernisierung von Staat, Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft in Nordafrika, über Themen der Sklaverei, afrikanischer Stadt- und europäischer Missionsgeschichte bis hin zu Dschihad-Bewegungen Westafrikas im 17. Jahrhundert. Die Veröffentlichung richtet sich an Studierende und Lehrende sowie an ein entwicklungspolitisch interessiertes Publikum.

Durch umfassende Bewerbung, Vertrieb, Buchpräsentationen und den Einsatz bei laufenden Ringvorlesungen soll die Auflage von 950 Stück Absatz finden.

Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von Euro 11.100 in der Höhe von Euro 2.000,00 (18,02%) gefördert.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
