Overall goal


Die OEZA leistet durch ihre Kofinanzierung einen Beitrag zu einem regionalen Biodiversitätsprogramm der GIZ im Südkaukasus („Nachhaltigen Nutzung der Biodiversität im Südkaukasus“). Die Landwirtschaft in dieser semi-ariden Region ist von zunehmender Trockenheit, bedingt durch den Klimawandel, betroffen. Das Projekt zielt auf die Verbesserung der Produktions- und Einkommensbedingungen der ländlichen Bevölkerung im Bereich Land- und Fortswirtschaft im Bezirk Dedoplistskaro in der Provinz Kakheti, Südost-Georgien, ab. Folgende Resultate werden in der vierjährigen Projektlaufzeit erreicht:


• 100 km Windschutzstreifen sind nachhaltig wieder aufgeforstet; dabei ist die nachhaltige Versorgung von 4.300 Haushalten (bzw. 100.000 Menschen) mit Brennholz sichergestellt;

• die Wertschöpfung von 60 Landwirtschaftsbetrieben, auf einer Fläche von 1.500 ha, ist durch die Anpassung der Anbaumethoden und durch den natürlichen Erosionsschutz der Windschutzstreifen nachhaltig erhöht;

• 80 MitarbeiterInnen der landwirtschaftlichen Vereinigung werden als Multiplikatoren fachspezifisch geschult und vermitteln ihre Kenntnisse und Fähigkeiten örtlichen Landwirten. Dabei werden indirekt 7.000 landwirtschaftliche Betriebe mit einer Gesamtfläche von 57.000 ha erreicht;

• Die fachlich gestärkte lokale landwirtschaftliche Vereinigung leistet ihren Beitrag zur Bewusstseinsbildung in der Bevölkerung und ist als Kompetenzzentrum in Angelegeneheiten nachhaltiger Ressourcenbewirtschaftung anerkannt.


Das Georgischen Umweltministerium dient als politischen Träger im Projekt, während die Kreisverwaltung des Bezirks Dedoplistskaro sowie die lokale landwirtschaftliche Vereinigung als lokale Projektpartner der GIZ fungieren.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries.
