Overall goal


Der Verein CHIALA veranstaltet 2016 und 2017 das jährliche Afrika Festival in Graz, welches im Zeichen der Auseinandersetzung mit afrikanischer Kunst, Kultur und Lebensweisen sowie der gesellschaftlichen Teilhabe und Sichtbarmachung von Menschen afrikanischer Herkunft steht.


Expected results


Es werden jährlich rd. 10.000 BesucherInnen in Graz erreicht. Durch das Festival wird eine differenzierte öffentliche Wahrnehmung der afrikanischen Communities sowie die Sichtbarkeit der Kunst und Kultur lokaler und internationaler KünstlerInnen nachhaltig gefördert. Das Festivalgeschehen regt bei den definierten Zielgruppen zur differenzierten Auseinandersetzung mit Afrika in einem globalen Kontext sowie zum Austausch von Menschen unabhängig ihres Geschlechts, Alters und ihrer sozialen und geographischen Herkunft an.


Target group / Beneficiaries


Zielgruppen sind eine kulturinteressierte breite Öffentlichkeit, Kinder und Jugendliche, Kunst- und Kulturschaffende, Medien und die afrikanischen Communities. Zudem gehören JournalistInnen, MeinungsbildnerInnen und PolitikerInnen zu den Zielgruppen. Publikumsschichten, die sich wenig mit Afrika und der afrikanischen Kultur auseinandersetzen, werden erreicht.


Activities


Das vorliegende Kultur- und Begegnungsprogramm für 2 Jahre an verschiedenen Veranstaltungsorten umfasst das 3-tägige Open-Air-Festival Ende Juni im Grazer Augarten mit Kreativ-Workshops, Programmen für Kinder und Jugendliche, Live-Konzerten, Filmprogramm „Kinowelten“, Speakers‘ Corner zu aktuellen gesellschaftlichen Entwicklungen/Beziehungen zwischen Afrika und Europa/Graz, Literatur-Schwerpunkt, einem Musik-Band-Contest, interkulturellem Frühstück im Park, Bazar und Kleiderwerkstatt. Zusätzlich beinhaltet der Antrag ein Theater- und Ausstellungsprogramm jeweils im Vorfeld des Festivals. Umfangreiche begleitende Medien- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit findet statt. Kooperationen mit etablierten Kulturveranstaltern, entwicklungspolitischen/ sozialen/ migrantischen Einrichtungen und Akteuren werden realisiert.


Context


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von Euro 393.933,80 mit Euro 20.000,00 (Zweckwidmung) für 2 Jahre gefördert.
