Overall goal


Das vorliegende Projekt zielt auf die Verbesserung der Lebensbedingungen für 720 Kinder, Jugendliche und Frauen mit emotionalen, mentalen, Entwicklungs- und Lernstörungen, durch die Verbesserung der psychiatrischen Versorgung und die Stärkung der Bewältigungsmechanismen und Belastbarkeit in der Region Bethlehem ab. Dies wird sowohl durch präventive Maßnahmen – Seminare für Eltern betroffener Kinder und support groups – als auch durch Therapien – Einzeltherapien und unterschiedliche Arten von gruppentherapeutischen Aktivitäten – erreicht.

Erwartete Resultate sind:

1) verstärkte Sensibilisierung der Eltern für präventive Maßnahmen und Früherkennung von psychischen Erkrankungen im Bezug auf ihre Kinder

2) Verbesserter Zugang zu psychosozialer Unterstützung und psychische Gesundheitsdienste für Kinder, Jugendliche und Frauen mit emotionalen, mentalen, Entwicklungs-oder Lernstörungen

3) Wissen über die Rechte der Kinder und die Rechte von Menschen mit emotionalen, mentalen, Entwicklungs-oder Lernstörungen

Nach Schätzungen der WHO leiden etwa 10 Prozent der Bevölkerung Palästinas unter einer psychischen Erkrankung. Vor allem Frauen und Kinder sind von psychischen Erkrankungen betroffen. Die Partnerorganisation der Evangelischen Frauenarbeit bietet in einem Zentrum für psychische Gesundheit seit 1994 therapeutische Behandlung vor allem für Kinder und Frauen in der Region Bethlehem an.
