Short Description:

Overall goal


Mit dem Projekt sollen junge Menschen ermutigt, begleitet und unterstützt werden, in ihren Gemeinden aktiv Projekte zum Themenschwerpunkt SDGs/Klimaschutz (SDG 13) durchzuführen. Der Fokus liegt auf dem bewährten Kinder- und Jugendprogramm „Roots&Shoots“, das von Dr. Jane Goodall ins Leben gerufen und inzwischen in über 60 Ländern zum Einsatz kommt.


Expected results


(1) Pädagoginnen und Pädagogen werden bei der Umsetzung von Roots & Shoots Projekten zum Thema Klima durch Mini-Grants und Weiterbildungen unterstützt, um zur Umsetzung der SDGs auf regionaler Ebene beizutragen: 50 PädagogInnen erhalten Online-Weiterbildung und begleitenden Materialien, Begleitung und Mini-Grants für 50 R&S Projekte in Pilotregion Baden/NÖ und österreichweit, 1 Handbuch zum Thema Community-Service im Rahmen von Roots & Shoots Projekten


(2) Jugendliche, Schülerinnen und Schüler erkennen, dass globale Probleme oft auf lokaler Ebene gelöst werden müssen und sie selbst Teil des Wandels sein können. Ihre Ideen zum Thema Klima werden verwirklicht und ihr Selbstbewusstsein wird gestärkt: 15 Workshops für 375 SchülerInnen; 50 Projektideen der SchülerInnen werden in zwei Zyklen begleitet, 2 Auszeichnungsveranstaltungen; Austausch mit Roots & Shoots Gruppen weltweit.


(3) Die Gemeinden sind aktiv bei der Umsetzung der R&S Projekte beteiligt. Durch die Mini-Projekte im Sinne eines Community-Service profitieren alle Beteiligten und erlernen nachhaltige Entwicklung durch gemeinsames Aktivwerden. Zusammenhalt wird gestärkt, Expertisen genützt und Nachhaltigkeit auf unterschiedlichen institutionellen Ebenen gelebt. Umsetzung von 15 R&S Projekte in Baden bei Wien, 35 weitere Projekte österreichweit.


Target group / Beneficiaries


Direkt und indirekt involviert sind:

• PädagogInnen in Baden bzw. ganz Österreich (100 direkt; 500 indirekt)

• Schülerinnen und Schüler in Baden bzw. ganz Österreich (mind. 1250 direkt; 5000 indirekt)

• Gemeinde Baden bzw. Gemeinden in ganz Österreich (mind. 100 direkt; 500 indirekt)


Regionale Ausrichtung: Österreich (Pilotregion Baden und österreichweit), Austausch mit 3-5 Roots&Shoots Gruppen weltweit

Die Partner in der Pilotregion Baden ermöglichen, dass die Ideen der Jugendlichen bestmöglich umgesetzt werden können: Schulen, Gemeinde Baden, Think tank „Baden nachhaltig gestalten“, Unternehmen in der Region Baden. ?

Internationale Kooperation: JGI-Global und internationales JGI-Netzwerk in 60 Ländern. Für das Projekt sind JGI in Argentinien, China, Tansania, Uganda, Südafrika, Kanada und Australien angefragt.


Activities


Die Maßnahmen werden in zwei Zyklen umgesetzt und umfassen:

- 2 Calls/Ausschreibungen von Mini-Grants für SDG/Klimaprojekte (Baden; Österreich),

- Auswahl, Begleitung und Umsetzung von insgesamt 50 Projektideen (davon 15 in Baden),

- Weiterbildung von mind. 50 PädagogInnen (Workshops, Online-Kurs, Materialien),

- Evaluierung und Erarbeitung eines didaktischen Handbuches sowie

- zwei Auszeichnungsveranstaltungen.

Das Projekt wird in der Höhe von Euro 38.000,- (75% des Gesamtprojektvolumens von 50.700,-, Laufzeit: 28 Monate) gefördert.

  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
