Overall goal


Kunzwana regt den Austausch zwischen Österreich und dem südlichen Afrika an, um kulturelle Vielfalt und einen konstruktiven Umgang mit Differenz und multiplen Identitäten zu ermöglichen. Das vertonte Anknüpfen an traditionelle Ausdrucksformen schafft den gemeinsamen Nährboden für neue Musikentwicklungen jenseits des üblichen Weltmusikzirkus mit seinen oft bemühten Afrika-Klischees. In einem musikalischen Austausch von zimbabweschen und österreichischen MusikerInnen im Frühjahr und Sommer 2014 in Zimbabwe finden gemeinsame Workshops und öffentliche Auftritte statt. Das 'Rückspiel' des Ensembles (Gegenstand des Förderantrags) ist für Juli 2014 als Tournee in Österreich geplant und hat zum Ziel, in Verknüpfung mit dem Projekt 'Tales of Resilience' eine differenzierte Sichtweise auf das südliche Afrika zu vermitteln.

Das Projekt Kunzwana dient der Reflexion und Promotion der Tonkunst der Tonga und des Überlebenskampfs dieser Bevölkerungsminderheit, sowie der Unterstützung für die seit Jahren laufenden ITC4D + Radio Projekte, die der Tonga Community insgesamt mehr Gehör verschaffen sollen.

Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von Euro 27.700.- mit Euro 9.500,- ( 34,30%) gefördert.
